Park Description
A mostly irrigated bluegrass neighborhood park located next to Deer Creek Middle School.
Park Amenities
Two playgrounds, picnic shelter and a multi-use athletic field.
Park History
This park was developed by Wood Brothers Homes and acquired by Foothills in the mid 1980s. Earlier this century this park and the land northwest of the park were underground coal mines. The area under the playground was an entrance to a coal mine. Around the time the park was developed, the federal government installed a large “plug” in the mine entrance to permanently seal it.
In 2019, this site was improved with voter-approved funds from the 2017 mill levy.
Directions To Park
From the intersection of S. Kipling Pkwy and W. Ken Caryl Ave. head north on S. Kipling Pkwy to W. Geddes Ave., turn right on W. Geddes Ave. to the park on the north side of the street. The park is located on the west side of Deer Creek Middle School. There is no parking lot and we suggest parking at the Valley View Park parking lot, located across from the school, or the school lot when school is not in session.
